ANGEL DISORDER RELEASES ITS POISONOUS WRATH ON HUMANITY
“We are happy to announce that our comeback has ultimately led to the official release of our first EP in 10 years”
Toxic Wrath will be released in collaboration with Doc Records. Deathened thrash metal with hardcore, punk and doom influences, inspired by bands such as Venom, Napalm Death, Asphyx, Sepultura and Exodus all pressed together on MCD limited to 250 pieces that will be available from 1 November. Later also available as download or as stream via the well-known online platforms; such as Spotify, You Tube and Bandcamp.
Three years after the formation of Angel Disorder, the band independently released their debut demo ‘Brutal Reality‘ in 2012, recorded in ‘the Alien Music Cave‘ in Hoogeveen and mixed and mastered by Sebastiaan Pierik. Due to circumstances, the demo release is quickly followed by a hiatus that lasts until 2019. From that year onwards, the thread is picked up again, because Dick Kloosterhuis (vocals/bass guitar) manages to convince singer guitarist Henry ten Napel during a barbecue at the local metal association. To continue with that much-needed “outlet”.
They immediately looked for a drummer who was eventually found in Klazienaveen, Maik Snippe at that time drummer with the metal band D.A.M.N. would like to try it, he would also like to learn to play a more extreme metal style. Behind his house, new songs are then worked on in a floating studio and old riffs and songs from the early period are taken out of the closet, dusted off and added to the new track list. Later, David Veldhuis joins the line-up as solo guitarist. The road to the new EP, which was roughly named Toxic Wrath during this period, is not entirely smooth. After corona and the associated rules and measures and some other matters, the band briefly fell apart again. After a silence of a few months, Angel Disorder is suddenly active again and this time with Marco Arends (Altar, ex-God Dethroned) behind the drum kit. There is movement again.
The new space in which rehearsals take place is in the hometown of the band members at the metal front. Now fed up with the delay, the pedal is pressed hard, they practice like crazy so that everyone is attuned to each other as quickly as possible and within six months all five tracks plus a last minute extra song are deemed good enough for recording. ‘Sebastiaan Pierik’, involved in the recording of Brutal Reality from 2012, is approached. He says he would like to do it, he is looking forward to a metal project whose music is slightly different from that of most other metal bands. In November 2022, the rehearsal room will be set up as a studio and the long-awaited recordings will begin. It takes approximately 16 hours spread over three recording days before all the songs are on tape. The mixing and mastering were successfully completed this summer.
According to the band members of Angel Disorder, the result “can be called surprising in retrospect, the mix sounds punk and thrash-like with a certain heaviness, the ferocity of punk with enough excursions into doom and death metal, and deliberately so occasionally.” slightly ‘over the top’ but the production is not too tight and that is exactly what the gentlemen wanted from the start, “it shouldn’t sound too perfect”. Now that all the music has been mastered and ready for pressing, a manufacturer had to be found to put it all into production. After asking around with acquaintances from other metal bands, Henry eventually ends up with Alwin Roes, well known to those in the know as the owner of Doc Holiday Metal Productions, who actually unexpectedly offers to have the MCD put into production through his Doc Records. The result won’t be long in coming, Toxic Wrath will be released 1 November as an MCD limited to 250 copies and later as a download or stream via one of the well-known online platforms; such as Spotify, You Tube and Bandcamp.
